We want to provide an update on exposures to COVID-19 within our Friendship Village of South Hills community. We learned on Sunday, March 6th that one of our Health Center team members tested positive for the virus. This is our only team member active case, and they are self-isolating at home. Currently, we have two Health Center resident active cases of the virus, and they are being cared for in the Health Center. There are no visitation restrictions currently in any level of living as a result of this update.
If you are identified as having had prolonged contact with any individuals who test positive for COVID-19, you have already been contacted by our management team and instructed to self-quarantine, per the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Allegheny County Health Department, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Pittsburgh Field Office.
It is important to note that even fully vaccinated persons are still able to contract and transmit the COVID19 virus. The vaccines are not 100% fool-proof, but they do reduce your chances of contracting the virus and if you do, the symptoms are usually quite mild.
Travis County COVID-19 Positivity Rate = 10.2% (Red zone)*

We continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members, and our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
How Residents and Team Members Can Help
- Fully vaccinated residents in independent living do not need to wear a mask; those who are not fully vaccinated must continue wearing a mask in public spaces.
- All residents and visitors to the health center must continue to wear a mask.
- Wash your hands often or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Querencia management team.
Thank you for your continued support.
